COLD.X is a compact direct expansion (DX) duct cooler that fits into the supply duct of an MVHR system, or runs with a standalone fan, to cool and dehumidify the fresh air going into the rooms. It connects to a split AC outdoor unit (2.5 to 3.5 kW, with external control) and can also run in reverse as a post-heater. Because it treats the ventilation air rather than blowing from a wall unit, it gives quiet, draught-free cooling without the hot and cold zones you get with a single split AC. It is rated at up to 3.2 kW cooling and handles 150 to 600 m³/h, with 200mm spigots, SAE 1/4 and 3/8 refrigerant connections, a DN32 condensate drain and a 10kg insulated steel case. Supply ducts after the unit need closed-cell insulation to prevent condensation. It is controlled by the X.CC.F control box, which comes with a wall thermostat and a duct temperature sensor and needs at least 180 m³/h of airflow before switching on.
