The same compact Brink Ease 200 — 560 × 660 × 315mm, up to 200 m³/h, 125mm spigots on the top — but fitted with an enthalpy exchanger in place of the standard plate exchanger. This is the left-hand version, with the connections to the dwelling on the left as you face the unit.
What the enthalpy exchanger changes
A standard heat exchanger recovers heat and nothing else. Moisture from the extract air condenses out and goes down the drain, which is why a conventional unit needs a condensate connection. An enthalpy exchanger recovers a proportion of that moisture along with the heat and returns it to the supply air.
Two things follow from that, and both matter in a well-sealed house.
The air does not dry out as much in winter. In an airtight dwelling with continuous ventilation, indoor humidity through a cold spell can drop into the twenties. That is where people notice dry eyes and throats, static, and timber shrinkage. Recovering moisture holds the indoor level up without a humidifier and without extra energy.
There is no condensate drain to run. Because the moisture is transferred rather than condensed, the unit does not need a drain connection. On a loft or cupboard installation where a drain and trap would be awkward, that alone can decide it.
Everything else is as the standard Ease 200: 87% heat recovery, constant volume EC fans, integrated summer bypass, intelligent frost protection, 0.15 W/m³/h specific fan power, and expansion for CO₂, humidity and VOC sensors with Brink Home app control.
Worth knowing
An enthalpy exchanger is not a dehumidifier. If the problem you are solving is too much moisture — a bathroom-heavy flat, or a new build still drying out — the standard exchanger is the better choice, because you want that moisture gone rather than returned. Enthalpy earns its keep in dry winter conditions, not damp ones.
